I love the way that the Holga can turn a very ordinary subject into a work of art.
Tell me how “Holga can turn a very ordinary subject into a work of art.”
I afraid it does not have that Holga look Joanna, at least to my eyes.Just out of curiosity, and please don't get too annoyed with me for suggesting it, here is my idea of a "Holga" image, created from a digital image. Please be honest without being too cruel

I thought it was art DESPITE its method of construction.....Calling it art because of its method of production suggests anyone could do it.

I had a sneaky feeling you'd say that. Ah well, it was worth a tryI afraid it does not have that Holga look Joanna, at least to my eyes.
Why so aggressive? That’s not an answer. That’s an excuse for an answer.
If you do know, and you suggest you do, then you know why and how. If you don’t then your answer would be different.
Or you’re suggesting if I don’t get it I never will, or possibly I’m too thick to understand or I shouldn’t know because I’m .... what? Australian? Atheist? Black? Hang on. I’m not black. That can’t be a reason. White? Old?
Heheheh. Give me an LF camera any day over all those complicated menus on digital camerasYou OK with a real camera Dingo, love that one, so what’s not gimmicky about your hi tech gear, the Holga does the same thing as high tech, it takes a picture, what’s gimmicky about that.
It’s subjective. Either you get it or you don’t.Why so aggressive?
love the autoicord versionThanks everyone for your comments, very interesting. I took this photo back in mid October on a lovely autumn evening with my Holga camera and as it so happens I also had my Minolta Autocord in my bag. The Autocord has the highly rated Rokkor lens and my Holga has either a plastic or glass lens. I never bothered to find out which. There was only one shot left in the Autoicord so I decided to use it and out of curiosity I also took one shot with the Holga. I stepped back a little with the Holga shot as I wanted to retain the soft out of focus and slight vignette around the perimeter of the photo. From memory I did not crop either negative.
I would never have thought of using the Autocord photo as I much preferred the one from the Holga. It is worth noting that I could not edit the Autocord photo to match the one from the Holga. I will attach both photos and let the viewer make up their own mind. I should also say that I never regard any of my photos as art, they are just a reminder, to me, of what happens to catch my eye when out for a walk.
