Tourists And Walkways

two, not cheap, water taxis containing japanese tourists. shot up the grand canal photographing everything in sight. 30 minutes later heading down the grand canal still photographing everything in sight.
a regular occurance during my visit.

aqua alta - certain times of the year, the water rises and floods parts of the city. these walkways are stacked in various places to enable the people to move about - or buy wellies.

we were told that most ground floor levels are deserted due to the flooding.
