To the Bazaar

I was expecting them to tell me they were going to a jumble sale - but they said they were going to the bazaar. Not sure if that is a Hanley 'thing'. Photograph taken in Hanley, Stoke on Trent (late 1986) as part of a series of portraits of people going about their everyday lives.

On the same day I met two fishermen who were quite pleased to show their catch. I seem to remember overdeveloping these negatives. I had started the development in a deep tank - with a missing lid. So, film in the spiral, pitch black darkroom - no clock! So guessed the time. Always tricky to print.
