Bronze sculpture by Stephen Carvill which can be found on Bridlington Harbour's north pier.

Paying homage to the families of fishermen, the inspiration for the sculpture came from a photograph by renowned 19th century Whitby photographer Frank Meadow-Sutcliffe, and the significance of the Ganseys to those who make and wear them.

A beautifully balanced capture Ian. I have a number of Frank Meadow-Sutcliffe prints purchased in a Whitby shop that specialising in his work. The last time we were there though I noticed that the shop sadly had closed down . I wonder what happened to the original plates. I seem to remember that some of them had been rescued after they were found to be glazing someone's green house.

As far as I know, the previous owner of the shop still has the plates, I believe he was a relative of Sutcliffe
