The first miniature daffodil to flower, not in the garden but in the kitchen and illuminated with IR. There is rather more to this close up photography than meets the eye especially when working with IR but, with your help, I might get some decent results, eventually.

And so looking forward to it, You're getting there Norman, the lighting might want diffusing a touch seems, a little harsh

Thanks, Martin and Jose. I think the challenge starts with the lighting and some sort of diffusion would probably make a great difference but how can you tell whether or not a beam of IR light has been diffused when you can't see it? If the distance between the light source and the object is increased then perhaps the light will have spread over a large enough area to be considered as diffused. Bearing in mind the inverse square law the exposure time will certainly increase but I am sure that can be managed. I'll be back.

I've no experience in this area Norman, but I am following your progress with interest. Keep going.

It looks as though there are not many folk who have tried to combine IR and close up photography so all I can do is to pick up any scraps of information and to press on.
