Side Step

I like this John. The way you have caught and isolated the three main subjects is spot on. I like how the other players are out of focus and all are concentrating on where the action is. The tonal range is just right. Were it Bake-off i feel sure a Hollywood handshake would be in the offing.

Ditto :)

A moment perfectly captured, terrific expressions, and every face on the field is looking at the main subject.

I'm not overkeen on the extent of the background blurring that you've applied, it doesn't look quite natural, not least because the legs of one or two of the players to the left are more in focus than their faces.

Yes well done John, good shot, the processing looks absolutely fine on this one, not sure what happens to some of the others. I think if you continue to process your images like this they will look really good.

Thanks all. Bit late responding to these comments. Just had a weekend in Keswick appreciating some premium quality Lake District rain. (Impenetrable at times!) The camera never left its case.
Thanks Steve. I perhaps don't take enough time on occasion. It dismays me though that sometimes the concentration on processing seems to over shadow any appreciation (or otherwise) of the other aspect of an image.
