There have been several shots of wrecks recently & these reminded me of some monochrome images of Grace Dieu priory I captured a few years back - not the same skeletal frames but still IMO well suited to IR:

I personally quite like the hint of sepia that toning creates, but I know I'm a bit unusual in my tastes. I probably should have fully desaturated the shots.

Yes, I think fully desaturating and then applying a split tone in post would work better. In fact, I always do it.
