The dramatic outcrop and hauntingly beautiful little chapel under the tails of Storm Austen. It is quite difficult to effectively frame the rock, as there are really only two or three quite tight compositions revealed when you are up there; you are hemmed in by the rocks to your rear and side, and thick gorse below. As a result, every visitor tends to take the same handful of photographs, and one has to rely on the light and the sky to lend distinction. This opportunity was brief, caught by my phone and completely missed (again) by my MF film camera, through which I wasted almost an entire roll of FP4. It didn't help that we were being buffeted, and once almost flattened, by squally showers, but the rapidly changing light revealed ever changing textures and colours on the stones of the Hermitage. It was quite spellbinding just to be there.
