Paddle Steamer

Straightforward shot but I just loved its elegant lines. One of two identical paddle steamers that operate on Lake Garda. Built in 1903. Saw service in both WW1 and WW2. Sunk in 1944 by the USAF. Recovered and eventually converted to diesel in1984 (so no longer a "Steamer") . Still happily ploughing the lake for tourism. The lack of people in the shot is down to the fact that on that day, the Italian unions had called a National strike across Italy and nothing was moving.

Lovely, really like this. Excellent image. It reminds me of the style of photo that Charles Sheeler took of the Ford Plant in the 1930s I think it was.
