Ortho Conversion

This is the straight conversion Norman. It is supposed to be Rollei Ortho film but how realistic it is I wouldn't know, I haven't used ortho film since the nineteen-fifties.

Edit: Actually Norman, in PS if you go to Image>Adjustments>Black & White and slightly increase the Blue/Green sliders then slightly reduce the Red/Yellow sliders you can get a pretty good approximation to this ortho version.

This is a straight forward conversion and there is certainly a noticeable difference between the two B&W versions.

You'll notice that in the ortho version that blues/greens are lighter whilst reds/orange are slightly darker. As this is only a simulation I would expect the differences on ortho film to be even greater.

Norman, I appreciate that you are looking for the ortho effect, which can be very effective in certain circumstances, but with this image I think the straight forward version looks better, my veiw only.
P.S. Like the subject matter and composition of this image, ( apart from the wire :) )

Thank you for your comments, Tim however, this image was just chosen at random and not intended to be an example of orthochromatic film. What I would really like to be able to produce is the negative and I assume that I could just invert the ortho positive fro that.

To be honest, this is an attempt to reproduce a technique which I saw many years ago and is more relevant to colour than monochrome.
