Norham Castle

My part of the world (or close enough) many, many years ago. The castle has changed little since I last visited it, with the grass being kept at a reasonable height. You did will to manage to keep the tourists out of the picture. It maybe my screen brightness is different from yours but it does seem a little dark here. Not a criticism, just an observation, but if I brighten my screen it then looks - to me - as I remember it.

The shadows in the wall and the top left hand window do seem somewhat hard, but likewise, could be my screen.

Is this film, Kevin?

The above image was digital. I did shoot some film on the same visit and made a lith print, shown below. The film was HP5+ at EI 1600 in an Envoy Wide box camera, printed on Kodabrome II RC paper with Moersch SE5 lith developer. It is deliberately dark and grungy.

Impressive given the age and quality of the camera. I find myself liking the split tone of the second print. I have a home-made toning LUT brewed from a tintype of my grandfather and his father with a very similar range of tones: warmer highlights and cooler shadows.
