Hareshaw burn starts somewhere up on the moors in North Northumberland in a huge sphagnum peat bog, and when it is in spate the water fall is deafening. This was late summer and the burn was quite low but still a lovely place to walk to. If you are ever up in Bellingham there is a car park at the end of a footpath that crosses and recrosses the burn many times on footbridges and a few steep slippy places the negotiate. About 1.5 miles some on the flat flat but a lot uphill past old Iron works
