Grounded

Why grounded? This is an owl that I came across at Leighton Hall, a country estate East of Silverdale. We were being treated to a flying demo involving a number of Raptors but this owl was so old and tame that all it was able to do was walk amongst us sat on the ground watching. The shot is one of a number of graphic images I made as a set intended for the wall. They have yet to get there.

Nice image John, I had a couple of Owls as pets in the 60's, one of my favourite birds.

I didn't know that Owls could be pets but this one was certainly comfortable in and amongst people.

They make great pets John, the two I had where very small chicks, when I found them, there parents where both killed in a barn fire and these two was found on the floor near the burnt out barn. Now you need a licence to keep them,
