From a trip up the west coast of UK

I think these are all quietly excellent, Chris. I've noticed previously that you do rather good landscapes for one who doesn't like landscapes. Keep it up!

Thanks Toby, much appreciated.

And unexpected re landscapes :)

For these two I made a lot of use of Ian’s DZS plug-in which I find really good and easy to use re identifying and lightening/darkening zones.

Thanks everyone.

I wasn’t expecting such favourable responses, especially as I regard the people on here as knowing what they are talking about :)

The globe structure is a protective cover for the ship’s radar (known - apparently - as a ‘radome’.)

This SOOC image shows it in context

Very good image quality indeed. I thought, oops whats the colour one doing there? But of course it is still monochrome, just blue.

Thanks Helen - yes, the colour one is simply to give a better view of the radome, in response to John’s question.

Looking at the thread again I see that I wasn’t as clear as maybe I should have been.

Whilst I like all the pictures my lack of ‘proper’ photography for several months meant that I wasn’t sure that I still had my photographic ‘eye’ as regards the final product.

Hence my surprise and pleasure at the favourable comments, especially from people I regard as knowledgeable and whose views I respect.
