Tim, are you using some kind of tonemapping/HDR, the tones look a bit flat?
I noticed the same on the Liverpool one as well.

Perhaps some details drawn out of the shadows. The fuji xt-1 sensor isn't the best.

Hello Tim nice to see you back, the processing of this reminds me off an USA street photographer and for the life of me cant remember his name, he's very well regarded for his work and I think this style gave him his trade mark signature.
There's a common convention that subjects looking off like that need negative space they are looking into; I was trying to work out in my head whether it would look better if you'd swung the camera round to the right a bit, putting the geezers more at the left of the frame. However, I really like the context from the church and approaching figure, which would be lost, so on balance I think it's spot on. Great expressions, too. Touch of over-sharpening maybe (halos round the left figure)?
