With the gloomy weather at present, looking at your image Martin is like a breath of fresh air.
 
Martin, nice image. Not sure I understand he discription of your camera and medium.
 
The camera is an Olympus Digital compact converted to Infrared at a wave length of 720nm, so I takes images like any other digital camera, however it removes most of the visible light and produces Infrared images (light we cannot see with our eyes) Doug if you have any more questions regarding this subject and medium then please ask. Infrared filters come in differing strength mine is the most popular type, the next up If i am right is 850nm which cuts all visible light and only transmits IR light onto the digital sensor.
 
Nice Image Martin & I also am into Infra Red. I use a converted Nikon D70 But have tried using loose filters in the past.

I like to do IR Harold seeing the world in a light we normally don't see, the images look over edited, the clouds have a black halo around them a sure sign of to much contrast and sharpening added, nice scene though, where is this area ?

It is a lovely place isn't it. I drove up there in mid summer four or five years ago specifically to take photographs and much to my disgust I found the nearest place to the lake where I could park the car was in my own driveway - I've never seen so much traffic!! I wouldn't have minded but most of them weren't even photographers! :mad:;):(

Hi Martin, mine are at " BleaTarn" & the hills behind are the "Haystacks" photo taken on my Nikon P5400 which is converted to IR & yes I agree with your Comments . 'Twas my learning days. BTW a favourite spot of mine.
 
I rarely see an infrared image that I like. This lake scene is well controlled and the lightened areas work beautifully with the scene. Lovely.
