My wife dragged me kicking and screaming to a carboot on Sunday, I dont like them. Anyway after 15 mins of standing around while she tries to make her mind up, I said I am off back to the car and waiting there.
On my way back I spotted a 35mm looking Camera in a box full of junk all dusty and dirty looking.
I picked it up and it was a Olympus OM10 Black Quarts 35 with a Zuiko MC 35/70 F4 zoom lens and a x2 adapter as well as the manual adpater that clips on it. As you know I like to buy old cameras and get them working again if I can.
I thought this camera wont be expensive because of the way it looks and the guy had just thrown it in a box with junk. I asked him how much, he said £25.00, I said it might not work and offered him £10.00, he said no so I walked away, he then shouted give me £12.00 and you can have it, so I bought it.
Got it home and gave it and the lense a good clean, then cleaned up without a mark on it, I checked out the camera the batteries and sure enough they had leaked but not done any damage inside the chamber, new batteries fitted and she fired back in to life, everything works, even the quarts back works, just going to put a film through it and see what I get, the light meter seems to be accurate so its looking good for a Tenner.
Just checked ebay and some with this model with a lense are selling for £299.00. The old film cameras prices are going crazy.
