IMG_0043 Ancona church interior 1 v1-Edit mounted.jpg

I didn't know what the church was called as I just popped in on the off chance whilst in Ancona, Italy.

So I used Light room to give me the location - hence the title - and it turns out it is the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Piazza.

My aim in this one was to give a sense of 3D/depth, and to experiment with Ian's BW toning plug in.

I pressed the 'Photo filter' button (as I'd never done that before) and it gave*** a very gentle warm, browny tone - which I liked. I guess for some people going to a church it sometimes makes them feel warm inside so it seemed to fit :)

***EDIT I now know that the 'Photo filter' happened to be set to 'Warming filter (85)' - so pure fluke that it gave a finish that I liked

I think you have handled this nicely Elines and I know some won't agree but I also like the framed presentation.

Super image, it has lots of 'feel' and a certain ethereal quality.

Simple white matted surrounds like this are fine in my view, and as you say, give a good impression of what the print would look like matted. In my view they go wrong as soon as varying grey tones are introduced.

Thanks Toby - appreciated; beginning to feel that I’m getting back into the swing of it all :)
