A week or so ago I went to find a way to photograph this bridge in Sackville NB. Easily visible from the highway but it took a trip with google maps to find a way into the area.
This is the digital copy photographed with my Fuji GFX
The film version is still in my camera!
Oh and yes I waited...
I shot this in 2008 in Vancouver, Canada. Originally, it was the high-scalloped cloudiness that drew me to this scene. But then I realized I could have both of these gems in my shot. I hope someone has fixed up the exterior of this classic Art Deco theatre, it was falling apart when I shot this.
I took this photo back in 2014 at Canada's majestic Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains. I recall standing on a lofty (est. 5k foot) rock precipice overlooking the sprawling wild life park where the tree line ends. The white line jutting into the scene at the bottom of the frame is the...
Shot a few years ago in Coombs, British Columbia, Canada. A charming country market with goats that live on the roof of its store. A huge tourist attraction for such a small town. Out of the six or so goats, only one was cooperating with me.
One of the oldest and, I believe, the longest covered bridges in Canada (62m). I've shot this bridge at different times of the year, but I think winter is my favorite.
Perched high upon a rocky precipice overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Spear Lighthouse is the easternmost point in Canada. I'll be back there next week to see and photograph it again. Hoping for clearer weather, maybe a morning sunrise? That would be nice.
This was our view when we reached the halfway point of the Chikanishing Trail in Killarney Provincial Park. The rugged trail passes over a series of treacherous, Precambrian pink granite ridges leading towards this Georgian Bay lookout. It was, indeed, a gruelling hike but the pot-of-gold...
It can be so frustrating when the weather doesn't cooperate. I just got back from a 4-day trip to Canada's Killarney Provincial Park. This beautiful, rugged park is a five-hour drive from where we live, and some of the park's trails are very challenging with large, pink granite rock...
Reflecting back on my trip to Newfoundland Canada in September 2016.
I's the b'y that builds the boat
And I's the b'y that sails her
I's the b'y that catches the fish
And brings them home to Liza.
This will probably be my final IR post for this year. We've had an unusually warm fall, with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures. It's been so warm that the leaves have just started turning here, so I've been enjoying a protracted period of shooting IR. Usually, at this time of year, we have...
Another IR from Fairy Lake with slightly different vantage point. I know, I know you think the clouds should be cloned out. Well tough toenails, I like them, they help break up the dark sky a bit. ;)
