I've been AWOL the past few months, recuperating at home from a serious back injury. Will probably require back surgery early next year to fix the problem. In the meantime, at least I can walk again, but not well enough to run around and take pictures. Here's a still life I did the other day in...
Another snowy day in my neck of the woods. While plodding through the Mackenzie Wetlands, I spotted this very strange tree.
It looked as if it was about to walk in the deep snow.
Here's a rework of one taken in 2009 in southern California.
Joshua Tree National Park overlooking the Santa Rosa Mountains.
Multiple exposures blended using Ian's 32 bit exposure blending.
From my trip to Iceland in May 2017, this is the iconic Black Church in the hamlet of Búðir on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Iconic because it's one of the most popular shooting destinations for photographers. Don't know why this tourist is peeking through the window, the church was open to tourists.
This municipal administration building is located about 2 km from my house. It's a popular destination for architectural photographers who come far and wide to shoot it.
This image, one of many, will be included in a group exhibition I've been invited to participate in this fall. The show is being held at an art gallery at swanky resort located in cottage country north of the city. It will be the first time showing this image at any show or exhibition.
Two of the images were taken with my old but loved Nikon D7100 and the Scarborough wave shot was taken with my current Fujifilm X-T2 at 1/5 of a second.
Thanks again all for having me here, I look forward to seeing your work and posting more...
Thank you for viewing my work!
A long exposure of the Toronto skyline shot early June from Toronto's Centre Island. I'll be including this one for sale at my upcoming fall art shows.
This is an older color photography that I had taken some time ago. It was taken, during a rain storm, out of my backdoor. It was raining so hard that it flooded my back porch which allowed me to capture the abstracted fluid motion of the drops as they struck.
I have taken this many times before however never at this angle or with a Pinhole camera.
Zero45
75mm F/216
Ilford FP4
Developed in Pyrocat HD N+1
Exposure 2m 20sec f/216
As with the other Chevin image, I choose the 75mm pinhole on my Zero image45, (equivalent to 24mm on a full frame camera) the exposure was 45sec @ f/216, I developed it in Pyrocat HD a N+1, semi-stand 34 mins 21c.
I love this time of year for the quality of the low Sun, it can be a problem with pinhole when it is too high, they have a tendency to flair in an uncontrollable way, but when the sun is low it's not too much of a problem making it easier to shoot into the light.
