Some photos from the Nevada Northern Railroad Museum (Ely, NV USA) where I got to run a 2-8-0 steamer for a couple of hours (one of my sons rented it for my fortune in surviving major open-heart surgery).

It was a blast, honestly. The travel from Reno was done over a couple of days, stopping in Eureka to stay over at the Jackson House, reputed to be a very haunted hotel, having a history of lots of gunfights (in the bar and in the street). I slept like a baby...

I will post some more later in the week, including my view from the cab.
