Update idiosyncrasies

I have updated the apps for my Photoshop cc 2019 this afternoon and it all went fine. However whenever I click on a thumbnail image in any area where pictures are stored it comes up with CC 2017 but with the latest and most recent changes to CC2019. showing on the panel. The CC2019 software is there on the hard drive but unless I open it from the desktop I cannot get it to appear direct.

I do still have 2017 installed because there were a couple of the items that were changed with the advent of CC2019, I wished to keep. I am quite prepared now to uninstall CC2017 but was concerned if I were to uninstall that, would I also disable/uninstall the CC2019 as well. Any thoughts.

The 2017 version did not have an icon on the desktop although the programme is still installed.

The 2019 version did, but it still shows the 2017 opening graphics (A Blue cave scene with one figure in the lower centre) when it is clicked.

I can get around it, but to be honest it is a pain. I am dreading having to attempt to contact Adobe to see if they can give me an answer.

Thanks Ian, but I think I will wear it for now and contact ADOBE in the new week and see what they think of it. I think they may suggest deleting CC17.

Thanks Ian, I was concerned though in case it may take out the correct CC19 as well. Let me think about it

Another idiosyncrasy with PS.

I went to use my admittedly elderly, but regularly updated desk top tonight because that is the only one with a connection to the printer. (It is working with Windows 10 and I dislike Windows 11 with a passion)
It worked very well despite not being used for a good while, but I saw there were a number of updates waiting, so after the printing was done I went to sort out the updates. There were one for PS, one for camera RAW and two others. Alongside the PS update there was a warning that it was not compatible, so I did not try to update those. I will phone Adobe on Monday to find out what the problem may be. But thinking about it, I am wondering if my desk top 'puter is not technically up to scratch enough to accept the update. Has anyone else come across this?

Actually I am quite happy with the current version because it does everything I need so it may not be a great loss, but I am wondering what the problem may be. I bet they don't offer to reduce my subscription!

If you are getting a non compatible message, usually there is a "Learn More" link which when clicked tells you the reason why

Not this time Ian. Infact when I went back to turn the computer off after the updates had been done, the incompatible items had disappeared. By the looks of things one of the 'problem' updates was the latest version of PS I think it said version 25 or 15 (I cant remember) while the one update that I recall was an update from 24.5 or 14.5. Adobe are pretty easy to get in touch with and they should be able to say what the problem is.

Oddly enough my laptop which has the same version of PS as the desktop has not flagged any updates yet. However that is using Windows 11 but I cannot see what difference it makes.
