The view from room 908

Not had a go at a panoramic for years, so took the opportunity on a recent visit to Bradford when we were on the 9th floor of the hotel.

Very simple - pan and merge in Lightroom.

Compositionally it works (for me) eg arc from bottom left to bottom right, which also contains the area of greatest contrast, and so pulling the eye.

As regards processing ….

.. perhaps one aspect of interest is that I used (a previous version of) Ian's History brush panel, as it seemed particularly suited to this image. I wanted to dull down various bits (including 'Debenhams') which were very bright. Using the bit of the panel 'Darken extreme highlights' allowed me to affect just the highlights without also darkening the surrounding - darker - tones.

Never seen a photo of Bradford at night, certainly not in mono anyway. Looks like it needs the midtones lifting a tad though, for my tastes anyhow.
