This image was made last year on an evening out using an iPhone twelve. Really it was just an experiment to see whzt the iPhone could do. Must say was very surprised with the result.

Yes, the Sun is a problem. It is just the way the sensor on the phone captured it. Experience has taught me that it is best left alone rather than tinker with it, as the tinkering never seems to improve things.

I like that Helen. I like the way the rock formations and then the sun's reflection take you out to the horizon. Nice capture.

I assume the camera software has attempted some computational witchcraft in an attempt to repair the blown out area, sadly with rather awkward results. More successful is the HDR that it's done to lift the backs of the rocks.

No, it wasn’t the phones software that lifted the blacks. I did it using my photo processing software. I also brought out the detail in the sky.

Fair enough. I do the same with my photo processing software, though my old phone has far less inbuilt computation witchypooness than a modern iphone.

Looks like an alien landscape: the sun, and the sky looking like a wrinkled sheet. I really like this.
