While reading Ilford’s datasheet for XP2 I noticed the following

Now my Nikon Coolscan V scanner manual says this

There seems to be a contradiction here, or is Nikon's scanning process inverted with respect to an enlarger (not sure the path the film takes in the scanner) ?
The Ilford datasheet suggests XP2 is the opposite to most B&W film
Is the XP2 advise consistent with other Colour film as it shares the C41 process ?
Any advise with XP2 on whether its glossy / shinny side up or down ? Does anybody see a significant difference either way round ? Its possibly me but I didn't detect as bigger difference between the two sides in glossiness with XP2 as I did with Delta 100 & 400
TIA for time spent answering
