As with so many famous photographers, I’d never heard of him.

But apparently:

“His understanding of color, black and white, and composition was sublime.

It is also photography full of emotions and simple human compassion.

Visit the website of the Saul Leiter Foundation to learn more about him and his work.”

There is an exhibition, until 2 June at Milton Keynes, of some of his work:

I went to the exhibition with my wife last week. From the small amount of his work shown I preferred his paintings and colour photos to the BW ones. The video of him that is on a loop is worth a watch I found his view of life/photography thought provoking - it has made me think a bit differently.

Although the exhibition is quite modest I am glad I went - my wife enjoyed it as well which is a bonus! Thanks for the heads up.
