On Saturday I had a bit of a change from working on my Melton old v new slide show and was at a studio training day organised by the local photo club, lead by one of its members. £25 for a day's excellent training .
We had two professional models - Sarah and Dan - from Swifty productions:

and both were excellent and very forbearing of very inexperienced photographers (as regards studio work that is).
This shot was heavily cropped from a larger image but is probably my best one to show what you can do with flash that you can't do without.
As regards processing I mainly used luminosity masks because I wanted to darken the leather jacket but have a more high key look for the hair. Using a 'hard' selection would have been nigh on impossible (for me at least).
I used the histogram in NIK SFX to check that I had a full range of tones.
