Radioactive egg

Not been able to do any photography recently; just wanted to take a picture of something, anything.

Decided to try and do a picture of some bowls.



Generally happy with it - egg not exactly vertically aligned and highlights too bright (but acceptable to me).

When processing it, it reminded me of the symbol for radioactivity.

I would have never thought of doing that! Well done. Another take on everyday items going to make a subject demanding still life. I think the highlights as they appear on my screen are just right and good subjects for still life often come with a seconds inspiration.

One thing I didn’t mention earlier is that I used Ian’s Digital Zone tool to increase contrast just for the egg.

I really like that plugin because you don’t have to guess which zone you need to adjust - it selects it for you.

The highlights don't bother me. I do wish the egg were vertical.

You might cheat with a bit of modeling clay underneath the egg.

The egg was actually quite stable on the bowls, it was the smallness of the image on the back of the camera that made it difficult to get good alignment

I have the component parts to use a bigger screen - need to get it all working.
