Marmite is a yeast extract not beef, that is Bovril an entirely different ( and vile) taste

Marmite should, as it says on the bottle, be spread thin. Many people spread it as the would Nutella so no wonder it’s strong flavour becomes unpalatable to them

Bamburgh. I couldn't think of its name. Owned by the Armstrong family to this day, I think.

You are not far wrong although the 1st and last time I visited it back in the 1960's it was let out into a number of apartments. I don't know if that has changed. I would think not because even with the income form day trippers it must cost a King's ransom to keep it in good repair so a good income from rent would ease the burden a bit.
