If my images were to be on display in a public place then they would get mounted.
If they are just going on the computer room wall, I dont mount them.
I never do borderless prints, I always leave a good margin around the print.
As for adding text to the print, I personally apply this to the rear of the print. Some like to apply it to the bottom corner and some even make the mount larger at the bottom to show the text.
I have seen people sign the mount board in pencil but I feel this is not permanent because the mount board can easy become separated from the print where as attaching the text to the print itself makes it a permanent fixture
