Lightroom Refuses To Install

After a computer problem I reinstalled via internet recovery only to find I had been upgraded to the new apple 'Mojave' operating system. It won't let me use or reinstall Lightroom 6 at all
Got to figure a way out of this. Yes I have googled it

The good news is Lightroom Classic 7.5, Lightroom CC 1.5 and Lightroom 6.14 (and as-yet-unreleased later versions) do work on Mojave, with no known issues at this time.

yeah that's what they say but at the moment I can't install it
I'll try again...
 
AHA! got it working by trying over and over , lots of restarts etc

No idea why it wouldn't work to start, when I first installed 10.14 it was totally unresponsive, blank grey desktop, then after restarts a few windows would open but not respond to cursor or keyboard, then slowly after restart after restart it got better
reminds me of when it was MacOS 9.x
Grrrr. Mac OS is getting as bad as windows
