Hi all,

I’m based in the U.S. and currently operate under Part 107 for commercial drone work, doing videography and photography. I’m curious about the licensing requirements in the UK. Is there an equivalent to Part 107 for commercial drone operators? Do pilots need a specific certification or authorization to conduct commercial flights?

Also, how does the process compare to Part 107 in terms of testing, renewals, and operational limitations? Any insights from licensed UK operators would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I have since discovered that in the UK, most drones and model aircraft used outdoors must be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) under the Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Scheme, which is similar to FAA that offers Part 107 that is required in the US, and which needs a bit of studying.
