I do prefer normally to go with what I shot, although bits of cropping are OK, and minimal burning and dodging. I prefer the "whole scene" with this one although you could play with it as you say. I'm not over-happy with alterations, and not in "candid" photos, "the moment" and all that, and never "take that lamp-post out"! Which is often at odds with what landscape photographers do of course, have to say I'm not a fan of heavily manipulated landscapes. Each to his or her own of course.
