I am still working through some old darkroom paper I had given and in the box was some Ilford Ilfobrom G2 which appeared to be in pretty good condition so I decided to try it out.

This gives me a bit of hope. I have 3 or 4 part used packets of MG4 that I was given a while ago, just after MG5 was introduced and I never bothered using it. It will be a shame to waste it so I may as well try it out.
I like the picture of the horizontal steam engine - my sort of subject. Is it possible to steam it or is it simply static?

Me too as I have some IB4.1K and some MG4.
Anything specific to the development Ian or did you just go with standard chems and play it by eye?

Nothing specific, I just did a couple of test strips and then dropped them into some normal print developer.
