i1Studio use with Mac

I just calibrated this iMac then realised that I had had the Mac 'True Tone' set to on, so turned it off and rad i1Studio again and as I suspected would happen the profile is noticeably different.

My question is whether that is what you excerpts would also expect to happen , or not, should they both be the same anyway? I ask because I have noticed previously that the profiles were not identical when just out of curiosity I ran the program more than once

although not on a mac, I have found using i1Studio I quite often get different results even just an hour apart. I also get vastly different results between using their own software and Argyle/DisplayCal. So much so that I've almost given up on profiling and haven't printed anything at home for months.

I would expect it to be different, the screen is changing its colour and brightness according to ambient light. It may have changed during the calibration process even which will definitely not be helpful.

Absolute colour accuracy aside I have found the calibration process most helpful to get the brightness and linearity sorted out. Absolute colour accuracy is dependent on several elements you may not want to control, like colour of walls and decorations that reflect ambient light of varying temperature onto the screen and the print you are trying to achieve a match to. If absolute colour accuracy is needed you need neutral walls, special lighting, neutral surroundings and probably even clothes. You definitely wouldn't want a Trump like orange glow ;) reflecting back onto the screen !

The most probable cause for this is that the screen brightness is set to automatic. Make sure it is fixed. Once done, I have virtually never had to recalibrate, except for the time when I accidentally pressed a hot key that changed the brightness.
