Greetings from Southern Germany. I used to be a member of this forum several years ago...probably 5+ I would guess. I let the camera rest for a few years, except for birthdays and holidays, but I am slowly beginning to feel inspired again. I look forward to looking at everyone's images and getting a refresher on Black and White Photography. When I have an image that I feel worthy of posting, I will contribute.

Welcome back to our forum! I would be very interested to see what photos you took with your camera. I love Germany very much, especially the southern part. My brother gave me a trip to the Allgäu lake, and I was very happy. He says that he did not know where exactly to buy a tour for a long time, but then he came across one article tour to Allgäu. And I decided that I should enjoy this lake. So I plan to take many photos too, and in a couple of years, I will be happy to review them.

Hope it won't take a couple of years to show some pics on the forum;) Enjoy!

Indeed welcome. I spent a while in Bavaria when I was in the Army around Sonthofen and Oberstdorf in 1978/9 when I was in charge of a small detachment involved in Exercise 'Snow Queen'. I fell in love with the place then and since 2003 I have been back at least 14 times. It is fantastic ( I still wish I could buy 'Apfelkorn' in UK. ) For those who have never tried it, this is a blend of apple juice and Schnapps - too much and you loose the ability to talk!

There indeed is much of great nature, beautiful cities and many nice people in Bavaria. But you have to cope with the Bavarian dialect, which must be a mess for a foreigner! For me (Lower Saxony), a clean English is easier to understand than "Niederbayrisch", f.e... Apfelkorn is really dangerous, cause of its fruity and harmless taste. Beware of a sudden knockout!
