Good photoshop/lightroom deal?

Sorry no, but perhaps the recent free release of Affinity is having its effect. So, having practiced using PS recently on a friend's computer, do I consider making the switch to PS? I like the object removal tool which has to be paid for with Affinity (Canva) at a similar annual price as far as I know, and the user interfaces are similar.

Thanks Glenn

I couldn’t face the learning curve/time needed to swap software and at £8.25 per month it’s a price that seems reasonable (to me for the next year at least)

Now confused :( :eek::rolleyes:

I currently have an Adobe creative cloud 20 GB subscription.

I cannot find any Black Friday deals on this package. Seems my subscription will go up to ~£15 per month = £180 pa from December (next month)

The plan on Amazon specifically says:

"
  • Creative Cloud Photography Plan 1TB is a different subscription than Creative Cloud Photography Plan 20GB. Purchasing this will NOT extend or renew Creative Cloud Photography Plan 20GB subscription with Adobe"
So does this mean that if I take out the 1TB plan, and activate it immediately, it will run concurrently with the 20 GB plan and so, for the period of overlap, I would be paying twice for (essentially) the same thing?

My current 20 GB subscription ends early December so in practice .....??all I need to do is just wait till the current one expires before activating the 1TB plan?

Sorry if this is all blindingly obvious to everyone else, but it isn't to me:(

Thanks Glenn - Ian Barber was helping me with a totally different problem and he suggested the same thing :)

I just changed my monthly plan to an annual plan to avoid this increase. The annual cost is £119.09.
To do this, go into your Adobe account and choose "manage plan"

Of course this option only has 20Gb of online storage rather than 1Tb. In the past when I had the 1Tb storage available, I didn't use it.

When I went on ‘manage my plan’ the only option was (as I recall) to cancel

Phoning seems best option to help ensure I get what I need (which- like you - is not 1 TB) :)

Ditto.

I began disliking adobes way of business a few years back. Abandoned them for DxO Photolab 6 (newer are available but i still got the 6). Also I much like the Nik Collection of theirs.
Occasionally i use Affinity in the workflow as well.
I do miss the adobe workflow but I just didn't find it crucial to me.

I find the workflow in Affinity is the same as PS. Not wanting to change your process but I wonder what, if anything, you find different between the two?

I have been coming up to speed on a friend's PS hence the interest.

For starters i liked Adobe Bridge. Also Adobe Camera Raw was very powerful where I did most everything of my editing. I did not work in Lightroom.
I find that some raw formats are not supported natively to preview in OS. Bridge managed them well for me. For instance I have the Samsung NX1 camera and I can't see the raw previews in a folder, so fast rating or viewing photos is not possible. Have to open them in Affinity 1 by 1.
DxO is better in that regard though.

I ve tried all the options and fine none as near as intuitive and easy as Lightroom. Annoyingly it’s made by Adobe

I use that yearly sub for 20gb plan ( I use zero online storage so that part of the plan is utterly superfluous to me)

In your situation were that moi, I’d cancel and keep the 20 gb plans going on a yearly sub( cheaper usually)

Too much faff phoning and trying to sort it out but it might be too late to cancel?
