Yes, welcome and like that.

I'm currently trying to get my head round how I might take better (more arty) pictures of flowers growing (as opposed to in a studio).

Could you say a few words please about the key points - not looking for enormous detail - of your set up/ shooting method/basic processing to get the picture.

Hi, I really don't know what to say.l saw your picture of the dahlias and I really liked it. My picture was taken in my back garden hand held using an 18-55mm kit lens at 55mm on a Pentax K10 D. I then processed the raw file in RawTherapee doing just the usual things exposure, contrast.highlights and tint and saturation. Next I converted it to black and white using an Agfa 25asa simulation played about with the blacks a bit and that's about it really. Hope this is of some help to you.
