Fun in the Rain

Was out last evening at our local beach and it was drizzly and very nearly dark. There wasn't much going on, then these three young ladies appeared with their Dad walking along the beach. It didn't make a photo to be honest, but then the rain picked up, out came the umbrellas and the girls started doing an impromptu dancing around in the rain. It changed everything. One regret is I didn't use a slower shutter speed to enhance the movement blur. I have added some grain to the images to try to get the feel of it being rather rainy. The images have also been deliberately unsharpened to make them a little more dream like. Anyway, enough of all that see what you think folks.

Love the idea and the treatment Helen. You've caught the spirit of their enjoyment, especially in the second shot. Sort of Jack Vettriano in black and white. Just goes to show that sometimes image quality isn't an absolute. Had you used a slower shutter speed, they would have become abstract. Different but none the less interesting I suspect. Very much like these.

Would make a great subject for a planned photoshoot - you’d probably be able to get some brilliant shots :)
