Taken on Sunday specifically for a B&W conversion of my volunteer model, used a small beauty dish just to the right and slightly above with diffuser and grid.

Welcome joe, cracking 1st shot, maybe needs a little more light around the eyes, love the effect and mood.

Joe, Yes as Martin has said, a cracking shot. Just needs a lift around the eyes.

I am not much of a judge of portraits but I do like the mood evoked by this image. The eyes would benefit from a lift and, while you are about it, there are two white spots that you might like to remove, one on a lip and the other on an eyelid.

Yes, excellent, though not so keen on the treatment that makes the skin look unnaturally satiny. I think you have to be very careful not to overdo it.
 
It's always the eyes in portraiture and I have to agree with Martin and the rest of the guys that they do need a little lift. I quite like the skin tones etc too but the almost exaggerated texture of the bottom lip looks so out of place. A lovey moody shot nonetheless.
 
Thanks Everyone .. some food for thought ...was afraid to lighten the eyes as I liked the natural dark tones from the original shot... added a very little sharpening and a very slight dodge to the lower part of the iris.. as I hate the overdone look.
