Expiry dates on B&W film

I have just come across a new unused cassette of Ilford Delta . The last time I used Delta 100 was about 5-6 years ago. It was inside the usual canister in my darkroom having apparently fallen behind a set of drawers and lain there undisturbed for a good number of years. It will be out of date by now so what are the chances of it still being usable. The room does not get above 20-22cc at any time of the year and most certainly never stored in a fridge. I am not worried if it is rubbish because I have done without it for the years it was hidden, but if I do try it and it is useless the waste of time & pictures is more important. What are your thoughts?

Pretty good I would think John. Plenty of videos online of folks using decades-old film successfully. Some even prefer it.

Well yes it was OK. I took a while to finish the cassette dull wet weather is no really my cuppa! Hand developed in ID11 1-1 and it is a little over dev'd but they will still give me a good image (when I get around to it , that is!)
