it's an open source photography workflow application and RAW developer.

this looks interesting but installs on everything except windows.

maybe some kind soul could check it out and let us windows users know if it's worth messing about with a linux dual boot.

I've not used this software Reg but for what it's worth a Linux-using guy in a now defunct learning forum was a keen user and seemed able to mimic Photoshop editing comments with no problem and he produced some superb results. Now how this software will run under dual boot I have no idea but I do believe it is resource hungry - which is to be expected when processing images - but you could give it a go, perhaps under a virtual machine (I can't remember how to do this though :().

90 minutes into trying to create a virtual machine and i think i'll pass.
if i can find an old laptop i might give it another go - it reminds me why i don't like fiddling with computers.

I see that this FREE 'alternative' to Lightroom is now available for Windows should colleagues wish to give it a try.
I have had a quick look at the Mac version and found the workflow rather more complicated than Lightroom but I gather from reading several reports this is down to the inbuilt flexibility of the program which can be tailored to suit one's own requirements.
I'll stick to Lightroom for the time being but there may come a time when I'll return to it.
