Saw this in the hotel during our recent break. It just appealed to me as a high key shot. Perhaps a bit odd but so all comments welcome.

I agree. I might have been tempted by a square aspect ratio trimming the right hand side. I like the textures though.
 
The highlights look blown on my screen, I always think it is nice to keep the tones when shooting things that are white. As Glenn said square may look better - I would be scared to sit on it as I wear mostly black....
 
I've taken the highlights down a bit but unfortunately there isn't much more texture detail in the original. Doesn't bother me that much though given the high key treatment. The square crop works but it still needs some space on the RHS. Just cropping the RHS doesn't work IMHO. Is it better? I'm not sure. Thoughts welcome.

That looks really good. I don't think the textures matter that much. For me it is all about the shapes and all the various shades of white. That little black triangle is the cherry on the cake.
 
Thanks all for the feedback. Makes a change to try something different.

Yes - like this - simple but holds the (my) eye :)
