I had a rush of blood to the head and bought a Canon rangefinder camera. It all seems good except the aperture adjustment ring is a touch on the stiff side. Any recommendations for a suitable repair tech would be appreciated.

Either Martin or Ian put me onto Miles Whitehead Camera Repairs in Kent. It was some time ago but if he is still in business, I can recommend him. He refurbished an Agfa folder for me and did a good job without charging the Earth. Might be worth a call. Details are:

Thanks John. That's not even that far away from me. I'll drop him a mail.

I currently have my finger twitching over the buy button for an Olympus OM-4. Not quite there yet but like a moth I am circling closer and closer to the flame !

You could do a lot worse than contact

Ed Trzoska 150 Harrowgate Drive. of Euro Photo Services Leicester, LE4 3GP, England 0116 267 4247 He deals with nothing but non electronic cameras and lenses. He does have a waiting list like all good repairers.

Thanks John. Miles got back to me. He is still working but is semi retired. I am going to send the lens over to him next week after I have run the first roll through the camera. Oddly, Mr. Trzoska was second on my list after some online research late last night.
