Blow Torch Paper Negative

Lit by a normal household LED bulb in a table lamp. Between the lamp and subject I placed my diy light diffuser which is just a wooden frame with some white ripstop material stretched over it.

Exposure time for ISO 3 was 4 minutes, I also had the bellows extended 240mm so I made a final exposure of 8 minutes.

To compensate for the low temperature in the attic where I develop the negatives, I placed 3 candles under an upturned saucepan and used that as a heat source to warm up the developer. The paper was developed by inspection under safe light until I though it looked about right.

sounds like fun!
:p

Yes, really like the tones in this. The lighting on the upper part of the handle makes it difficult (for me) to see its shape, as it gets lost against the background:oops::(

Visually and technically strong.
Your process and intensity of purpose gives me comfort. When you post one of these studies I slow down and pay close attention. They're beautiful.

I find this to be a very elegant image.....love the detail and the toning.....and the subject!
