The larger image of the woman is actually a photgraph that was on display on the banks of the Thames (pretty good quality I thought!) and I just waited until people wandered into shot.

Yes, a good example of how some of the best 'street' photography is taken by spotting a good background (for example) and then waiting for someone to go past, as opposed to taking random shots and hope you get something.

Sorry to say that I have only tried the second approach
