£10 at a local collectables fair. I've had it serviced and cleaned and I really should get out and use it. The Art Deco decoration in the styling are what attracted me as much as the fact that I like old cameras.

Thanks John. It was a gentleman in Kent that either Ian or Martin recommended but the last time someone on here contacted him, I think that he had all but retired. If you want to try him, I think that I still have his address .

No I am just curious because the old factory trained engineers who can actually repair cameras rather than slip a new piece of electronic gadgetry in into a camera in exchange for the old bit in are getting few and far between. I wonder if it would be worth while creating something on the forum where we can list them and their specialities.

I think you might mean Miles Whitehead. Last time I used him was May last year when he serviced a lens for me (50 mm. prime from my 1958 Canon VT). I have to say I was impressed by his work and he doesn't charge the earth. He was semi-retired at that point but was still at his bench three days a week. You should be able to contact him here: Email: MWcamerarepairs@gmail.com

Nice camera by the way.

Postscript - this thread reminded me that my Rolleiflex T and Nikkormat EL both need attention so I contacted Miles. He does still take on work and I'll be sending my two cameras over in a couple of weeks. Thought you might like to know.

@ Glenn, thanks. That is good to know. I have a couple of Ensign Cameras that need a bit of fettling and he did such a good job with the Agfa, I had him in mind.

That would be a great idea John. My last two traditional repair guys have both now gone into retirement, and I have A LOT of antiques to service/repair that are past my abilities!
