    Random Passage Settlement

    A recreation of an authentic, although fictitious, Newfoundland fishing settlement from the early 1800s for the Canadian tv mini-series - "Random Passage". The film set consisted of 10 houses, a church, wharf & fishing stages. I liked the dried cod on the fishing stage.

    Keels, Newfoundland

    According to folklore, this small, picturesque fishing hamlet is where Giovanni Caboto (or as we were taught in school - John Cabot) came to repair the "Keel" of his ship "Ye Mathew" circa 1490 during his explorations of Newfoundland.
