I have always used PS ACR to process my RAW images from my Canon CR2 format, or on my Olympus . in ORF format.
For my jpg's (taken at the same time) I would just open those directly into PS and apply changes there.
Recently, I found out that you can also open jpgs into ACR through the Filter menu, and make reversible edits there.
Even more interesting, now in ACR there are a number of AI-driven presets for portraits, scenics, and B&W. For use with both RAW and jpg images. Most likely, I'm the last person on the Forum to realise that these features are there, not sure when they arrived, saw them in a 2023 video tutorial.
Here is an image I converted to B&W and applied a 'creamy' preset from the new AI-filters. You can also create your own style of custom presets. Not everyone likes the use of presets, what are your views?
