January Gloom

My weather app had promised some mist and fog so I headed up to Bedford Purlieus Woods for some atmospheric opportunities, but by the time I arrived I was greeted by a slightly miserable gloomy dampness. These woods are on relatively high ground close to the A47 between Peterborough and Leicester so it seems the mist tends not to collect. My second roll of Ilford Delta, this time 100 iso, so most of these were with the help of a tripod

Thanks silver birch are great for overcast days. when the sun comes out I find their white bark provides highlight challenges and you lose much of the texture.
